Code change

ACDBA’s Code of Practice will cease to apply to Subscribers’ collection transactions from 30 June 2023.

This decision recognises the extremely low number of Code complaints, redundancy of the Code’s purpose due to regulatory, legislative and other developments increasingly mirroring or eclipsing the code obligations together with the unsustainable financial impost of maintaining a code on a small member based association.

ACDBA appoints CMC Chair

ACDBA thanks outgoing CMC Independent Chair Mr Digby Ross for his five years’ service to the committee and welcomes Mr Philip Field as his successor.

Lawyer, mediator and independent reviewer Mr Field brings significant experience in complaint resolution to the committee through his previous roles as Lead Ombudsman - Banking & Finance with the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

ACDBA Data Snapshot - FY2022 Industry Demographics

Since ACDBA was formed, members have participated in an annual Data Survey.  A Data Snapshot was released today publishing useful metrics of the aggregated Australian collections industry demographics.

ACDBA 2022 Debt Forum - successful and popular

The 2022 Debt Forum was a great success.  Delegates heard from lead regulators and industry observers - the feedback of those who attended was positive and enthusiastic.
